Significant funding will be required to build on a successful staff development model, that is "meaningful, sustainable and scalable", and ultimately address the "crises in capacity building" district wide. Recent research validates the enormous need to seek funding to support technological "capacity building" for schools. In "Reality Check Reveals Ed-Tech Challenges", author Kevin Bushweller highlights the challenges and the opportunities of ed-tech visions. He states,
"...the vision of a digitally driven, student centered learning remains elusive in most classroom." Internal research indicates that only 5 to 10% of teachers who attend technology workshops implement their new learning, primarily due to lack of time to process or because the need coaching support. This particular year, many Lincoln teachers are working in new grade levels, and they must master two new textbooks, Language Arts and Math. THE CITE FOUNDATION plans to ameliorate this problem by funding RELEASE TIME for teachers to process not only the digital components of their new text books, but to internalize new "Google infused" information. The CITE Foundation will use a one-on-one and grade-level coaching model, where teachers will build on and expand their understanding. In addition, funding will be dedicated towards stipends to inspire teachers to do more research on their own time as they create grade-level products, all of which will be shared with other teachers in the district, and the nation.
